Get Involved

Lakeview Academy believes that by bringing parents and teachers together in the same organization, parents will feel empowered to help their children succeed at a level unavailable in the regular school system.  Here at Lakeview, parents and teachers serve together on the Site Advisory Council and other various committees instead of having a separate parent organization.  The goal and purpose of the Site Advisory Council is to provide the Director(s) of Lakeview Academy and the staff with the necessary support in fulfilling their responsibilities to the Board of Trustees and stakeholders of Lakeview Academy.

Parents play a huge role in the success of Lakeview Academy.  When parents and teachers work together the needs of students are met at a higher level.  The daily presence of parents in the classroom creates much greater feedback relative to the teacher, the course content, and the class environment than would ordinarily be possible in a setting where parents are less active in the day-to-day learning.  There are many different ways for you to get involved - from directly helping the children learn in the classroom, to helping teachers prepare materials, being a Room Parent, helping recommend programs and curriculum, to helping teachers plan and organize school activities, events.  Take a moment and browse through the different committees to find one that fits your likes and interests.  When you have found the committee that you want to volunteer your time, please contact the SAC advisor at SAC@lakeview-academy.com or committee chair at the email listed.
