Mr. Gustafson — History

Hi, my name is Troy Gustafson and this is my second year teaching at Lakeview.  I grew up in Highland and went to American Fork High (go Cavemen!).

I'm married and have five children, two boys and three girls, from 18 to 6.  My hobbies include reading, baseball (Yankees fan) and spending time with family.

I graduated from BYU (true blue) with a BA in History and have a MA in Education from the University of Phoenix.  I'm a member of the Utah Civil War Association and Utah Archaeological Society.  Before teaching I worked for the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office where I worked with youth and in the District Courts.

I love working with the Middle School students and love teaching them United States and Utah History.  My goal is to help them gain a greater appreciation for their country and state and for those who have come before them and made the freedoms they enjoy possible.  With this appreciation they can grow up to be better citizens and help continue making this country and state great.
